Workflow
We are actively scheduling our existing clients. If you have not yet been contacted - please feel free to contact us and ask when your accounts are currently scheduled to be worked on. We are flexible with this and can adapt - but not every client can be processed in May or June. Click here to book an appointment to discuss any business problem with Michelle.
ACC Cover
If you are interested in finding out more about different ACC covers click here and contact us with your questions.
Debt Management
The worst thing you can do is to hide from the problem - make an appointment and seek our professional help. We are able to offer financial solutions with GET Smart funding that is through "group discounts" that may be much cheaper than other finance alternatives especially HP and leasing.

| We have changed the look of our website, signs and stationery. |
I have been wanting to change these for a while, but everytime I sought feedback on it people liked the existing logo and saw nothing requiring change. However, plunging ahead I engaged a designer who came up with some choices and after a few more conversations with the team we all agreed on a new logo that I felt fitted us better as a firm.
Websites need regular maintenance to keep fresh. Our website had been done 3 years ago and though we changed photos - we really have to keep working at it because websites do date so quickly.
Our own research was telling us that 3% of new people who looked at our site made contact by phone or by visiting us. This statistic resulted in 10% of our new clients coming directly from finding us on search engines. A website audit from Zeald - a big website firm - confirmed our statistics.
Few of our existing clients have commented on the change. This is not unusual, if existing clients are happy with your service - then improvements are often not noticed. I will never forget the day I invited a group of women into my home to scrapbook. The same group comes every month... but I had completely redecorated the room we used between visits. It was half way though the event that one women noticed I had redecorated, and raised everyone else's awareness to this. I was incredulous how could I replace wallpaper 20 years old with new wallpaper and them not notice - to me the change was blindingly obvious and we all laughed when I told the group this.
New clients are in a better position to compare though and so many judge us by our websites now - so to attract new clients keep your wallpaper or "website" fresh and updated.

I have attached a link here of a business monitor that surveys and then reports on the feelings and results of NZ business owners.
Business Monitor |
What I received most from this update was that most NZ businesses expect recovery to be at least 12 months away. Also interesting were the statistics gathered from business and technology - this was found by listening to the webinar on website above.
- Most businesses in NZ are NOT early adopters of technology.
- Yet there is now evidence that early adopters of technology do as a whole grow faster than late adopters.
- Online businesses performed better during 2010.
- Online businesses predicted more revenue growth in 2011.
- The sales pipeline was higher for "Online Businesses"
If you don't yet have a website for your business - you are now a late adopter but please do adopt and get an online presence.

This was a ho hum budget.
- A definite loss in the attraction of Kiwisaver - however still this remains an important retirement plan and I do urge all clients younger than 65 to have a Kiwisaver investment.
- Establishing a budget to help recovery in Christchurch - obviously essential.
- Working for Families abatement thresholds are changing.
- Student loan rules are tightened.
- Reduces govt costs by $5.2 billion over next 5 years.

| There has been a further report released from the Law commission suggesting to the government a complete revision of the Trustees Act 1956 - the law that governs trusts. A re-draft is now in the pipeline and I will report on this as more details emerge over the next few months. |

| Every choice we make every day counts |
Some say that you must play the hand that life deals you. You can't choose the family you are born into, that is true... However, I believe the reality of life that is handed to us is largely the result of our own choices and how we respond to what happens to us.
Your hand will improve as your choices improve. Improving the condition of your life is an inside job. You constantly need to choose your own thoughts and actions that move you in the direction of your goals.
Every choice carries a consequence for better or worse - towards your goals or away from your goals. It is also influenced by the preceding choice - there are no exceptions to this.
Every morning when the alarm goes I face a choice to get up and exercise or not. As it's a habit for me now - it's an easier choice but it's never an EASY choice. When you are hungry what do you reach for to comfort the need, is it good food? Or not so good food? These are simple habits but also choices, the same applies to what we drink. All these little daily choices dramatically affect how we look and feel about ourselves and how much energy we have to live with.
What you do in your business, from how you smile or not smile, Whether you seek to be co-operative or stubborn. Whether you feel hopeful or hopeless and you think the best or the worst of people or situations, Whether you are understanding or judgemental, all these and much more are based upon internal choices and the resulting habits.
Decisiveness always is a good choice. In some situations we face as business owners we are not sure what to do - you can check with me as your accountant; I am always on your side. It is important to make a decision though and whether it is right or wrong you will soon receive feedback which will help you progress.
Let us today choose wisely and deliberately our small and everyday choices. Let's make the most of our lives for ourselves and for everyone else around us. In business, let us aim to deliver excellent service and wherever possible to exceed expectations. Focus on seeing the solutions in the future rather than the problems of today and smile more to enjoy your life as it is right now in the present.
Kind Regards
Michelle Thompson
